r. Gerald Brown is a Winchester family dentist with more than 30 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Since founding Amherst Dental Practice in 1987, he has provided exceptional preventative and restorative dental care at affordable rates. Dr. Brown is proud to offer the latest technology to ensure that his patients receive the highest quality care in a comfortable atmosphere.
Dr. Brown was born in Houma, Louisiana into a military family that traveled all over the world until settling in Falls Church, Virginia. He graduated from Annandale High School and The College of William and Mary, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986. After graduation, he practiced in Oakton, Virginia for one year and then moved to Winchester where he established his private practice.
Dr. Brown received his fellowship for the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996. He then went on to receive his mastership in 2000, which required over 1,600 hours of continuing education.
Dr. Brown currently resides in Winchester with his wife and three daughters. Outside of his practice, Dr. Brown enjoys participating in marathons and Ironman triathlons as well as many other shorter distance events. He strives for a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cooking for his family, as well as traveling and spending time with family dogs Neisha, Bitsy, Lola and Maggie.
