Dr. Tanya Brown, the founder and owner of The Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry is one of a select group of dentists Nationally who has completed the core curriculum at The Dawson Academy of Advanced Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida and earned her Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Brown has studied and mastered the areas of Cosmetic Dentistry, Smile Design, Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry, Dental Implants and TMJ treatments. She has completed several courses from Dr. Frank Spear of Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has attended courses at the Pankey Institute as well as completed advanced courses on Invisalign. Dr. Brown has earned Fellowship and Mastership status in the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires over 1500 hours of continuing education.
Dr. Brown is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Brown grew up just outside of Atlanta, Georgia in Fayetteville, and lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, Richard, and their cat, Sweet Tart. When not in the office, Dr. Brown can be found jogging around the neighborhood, going to the pool, getting a manicure or pedicure, or working in the yard. She loves traveling and teaching dental students.
Dr. Brown is passionate about empowering other women as well as dental and health related initiatives. Community involvement is important to her because this is the community that she calls home, and she wants it to be a better place! She is especially focused on improving the local Hampton Roads community. She is involved in the Rotary Club of Great Bridge, Children’s Dental Health Month, and Dental Access to Care Days. She volunteers at the Chesapeake Care Clinic and has served on the YMCA Board of Directors for the Great Bridge/Hickory YMCA.
