Dr. Kathleen P. Vani is a lifelong resident of Michigan. She graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in June 1990. After her graduation from dental school she taught at the University of Detroit Mercy for three years. Dr. Vani has been practicing in Shelby Township, at the same location, for the past 22 years. Dr. Vani is a member of the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association and Macomb Dental Society.
Dr. Kathleen P. Vani's dental practice is very state-of-the-art. She is one of the very few dentists in the area to use the BIOLASE® laser for dental treatment. In her practice x-rays are taken via a digital system, which has a much lower radiation amount than standard dental x-rays. Dr. Vani specializes in family dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic and minimally invasive dental treatments. In order to keep invasive dental treatment to a minimum, we utilize the Kavo DIAGNOdent laser to identify small areas of decay before they become large areas of decay. These small areas of decay are not normally visible during a visual exam. The hygiene department uses an ultrasonic scaler for dental cleanings. This allows for a more thorough cleaning and more patient comfort than using just hand scalers.
