Dr. Craig H. Rubinoff graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977. He attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School in 1981.
Dr. Rubinoff continued on at Northwestern for his Periodontal Residency and received his Certificate and Master of Science in Periodontics in 1983.
Following completion of his Periodontal Residency, Dr. Rubinoff went on active duty with the United States Navy, where he served as Chief of Periodontics and Regional Periodontal Consultant for the U.S. Naval Dental Clinic Guam from 1983 to 1986.
Upon returning to the mainland, Dr. Rubinoff served as Staff Periodontist at the Branch Dental Clinic Miramar Naval Air Station (then home of the Navy’s TOP GUN Naval Fighter Weapons School) here in San Diego from 1986 to 1988.
It was at Miramar that Dr. Rubinoff picked up the moniker “TOP GUM”. He then opened his present practice, Craig H, Rubinoff, DDS, MS, APC in Rancho Bernardo in November 1988. In May 2013, he moved his office to a new modern facility in Poway, CA.
Dr. Rubinoff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (being Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery) and a Fellow of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

With his passion for hiking and camping, Dr. Rubinoff is a Chapter Outings Leader Level 2 with the San Diego Sierra Club, where he leads day hikes. camping and backpacking outings.
He is also on staff and a leader with the San Diego Sierra Club’s annual Wilderness Basics Course. His favorite past-times include hiking, camping, backpacking, cycling, ocean sports and Talmud study.
Dr. Rubinoff stays abreast with new techniques through continuing education and sponsors a regular continuing education study club for the local dental community. His clinical practice has emphasis on Laser Periodontics and Dental Implants.
