Dr. Oltra was born and raised in Valencia, Spain. After finishing his first Bachelor of Arts in Spain, he moved to Virginia in 2002. He then graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ with a second Bachelor of Arts in 2008. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in 2012. He continued at the University of Washington for his post-graduate residency obtaining his specialty Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry in 2014.
Dr. Oltra is a Board-Certified endodontist who has completed all phases of board certification by the American Board of Endodontics. He continues to be involved in education as an Affiliate Faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in the Department of Endodontics. He has published articles in the Journal of Endodontics, Clinical Oral Implants Research, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, and International Endodontic Journal.
Dr. Oltra is a volunteer at Lackey Clinic, a charitable healthcare center, where he and other dentists help patients from the Peninsula improve their oral health. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, International Association of Dental Traumatology, Virginia Dental Association, and Peninsula Dental Society.
In his spare time, Dr. Oltra enjoys reading, riding his road bicycle, cooking Spanish dishes, walking his dogs, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
