Neck Pain

The neck is one of the most delicate body organs surrounded by vertebrae that connect the body to the upper torso. The neck is more likely to experience pain if the Cervical discs do not absorb shock due to infections. The neck bone, muscles and ligaments may not support head motion as required if there exist abnormalities such as inflammation caused by injury can lead to neck pain or stiffness.

Causes of neck pain

Muscle tension and strain

Muscle tension may cause neck pain sometime. The following activities can lead to muscles stain:

  • poor posture
  • maintaining one position working at a desk for too long
  • assuming a bad position while sleeping
  • doing exercise while jerking your neck
  • Heart attack

Neck pain in some instances can be a sign of a heart attack. If you see the following symptoms, visit your doctor for medical attention:

  • shortness of breath
  • arm or jaw pain
  • sweating
  • nausea
  • vomiting

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • abscesses
  • Osteoporosis

  • Protruding Disc
