Dr. Nuñez is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2014. He was born and raised in Cuba, where he began his dental career. He graduated from The University of Habana in 2006 and has been to numerous countries on mission trips providing dental care. He was awarded a certificate of recognition for the Pursuit of Excellence in Dental Implants and was awarded the Dental Implant Student Award by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also received special recognition for the Pursuit of Excellence in Handicapped and Special Needs Patients. Dr. Nuñez recently became an Associate Master of the Academy of General Practitioner Orthodontics and a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Rio Grande Valley Dental Society, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and Academy of General Dentistry. His extensive training from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry allows him to deliver same-day implant placement on an extraction site. In his free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering.
Dr. Nunez met Dr. Crystal in a continuing education course where they were both learning Orthodontics. They were married a few months later and opened Westlake Family Dentistry! Together they share a beautiful 3 year old daughter, Elle.
