Q

When should you see a periodontist?

A

You should see a periodontist when you start experiencing signs and symptoms of gum disease. Common signs of gum disease include bleeding while brushing, flossing or eating; chronic bad breath; loose teeth; receding gums; and tooth pain and sensitivity. You can also visit your general dentist and ask them to refer you to a periodontist if necessary.
