Valplast

Valplast, also known as thermoplast dentures, are removable partial dentures made from a thermoplastic nylon resin. The resin ensures that Valplast dentures are thinner, more flexible, and longer-lasting than acrylic or metal dentures.

It is more affordable than fixed restorations, and its final restoration is quick and precise to do. Thanks to their flexibility, these dentures move naturally with your facial structure and won’t shift unnecessarily when eating or talking. You get a beautiful smile and unrivaled confidence thanks to its aesthetic qualities.

You can use Valplast dentures to replace one or more teeth; they are cost-effective and have a close to natural appearance that makes them blend well with your shade.

Who they are for

Valplast dentures are suitable for anyone who wants to replace their teeth. Thanks to their flexible material, they stick to a person’s jaw and change with it when necessary. You won’t have to worry about it shifting or having to adjust it during the day.

To have Valplast dentures, however, you must have remaining teeth. These dentures are not for people with all missing teeth or those with extensive periodontal diseases. The structure of the partial denture will depend on the surrounding natural teeth, and there won’t be a perfect fit if all the teeth are missing. Also, the more missing teeth, the more expensive the denture will be.

Those with extensive bone loss cannot use Valplast dentures since there won’t be enough bone structure left to guide the dentures.

Benefits

  • Valplast dentures have a less invasive procedure because they are only partial dentures.
  • Offer great comfort when eating, chewing, and speaking.
  • Have a low absorption for odors and stains.
  • Are BPA free and use biocompatible materials
  • Less expensive than replacing teeth
  • You can add more teeth relatively easy in the future
  • Improves the facial and bone structure.
  • It prevents remaining teeth from shifting into gaps.
  • Can adapt to the movement and shape of the mouth.
  • Easy and comfortable to remove and replace.

Drawbacks

Valplast dentures can’t be relined. If problems arise, the whole denture will need to be rebased, which will take a lot of time to complete and cost more.

Since Valplast depends on the remaining teeth for the structure, it is not suitable for those with few teeth. Having a partial denture with more teeth will cost a lot of money.

Care and maintenance

Keep your dentures away from pets and children. Children can play with the dentures, or pets can use them as a chew toy which might cause damage to the dentures.

Clean your Valplast dentures by soaking them in the Val-Clean Concentrated Denture Cleaner solution. This solution is made to clean the dentures safely and effectively. Soak the dentures in the cleaner for 10-15 minutes every day. Another way you can clean them is by leaving them overnight for three nights a week in the Val-Clean solution. Rinse the dentures in warm water to remove food particles.

Do not use toothpaste for cleaning. You can use a soft-bristled brush to remove particle buildup, but it needs to be done sparingly. Using a toothbrush can roughen the surface of the dentures or remove its polish if it’s done too often.

You should also practice safe oral hygiene; brush your teeth and tongue regularly, floss, and use mouthwash if you have it. Ensure you remove the dentures before cleaning your natural teeth because the dentures should not come in contact with the toothpaste.

Contact your dentist if you start experiencing any discomfort with the dentures or if you notice a problem with your natural teeth and gums.

Due to considerable advancement in denture technology, the comfort, quality, and appearance of dentures have greatly improved. Over time, due to age and changes in the mouth, adjusting the denture will be necessary. It is advisable to see a dentist regularly to have your dentures checked and aligned.
