I had one of the best dental experiences of my life today with Dr. Alan Markowitz at Great Boca Smiles. I had a crown and three fillings done, and I honestly couldn’t believe how smooth, gentle, and efficient the entire visit was. Dr. Markowitz is incredibly kind, patient, and skilled. He explained everything clearly, made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure, and his gentle approach completely put me at ease. If you have any fear or anxiety about going to the dentist, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has a calming bedside manner that makes all the difference. The quality of his work is outstanding, and I am extremely satisfied with the treatment I received. It’s rare to leave a dental appointment feeling this positive, but today exceeded every expectation. The minute you walk through the door it is a warm and friendly atmosphere, you feel very welcome. Dr. Cela and his staff are extremely professional and thorough besides been very knowledgeable. Didn’t know it but a simple thing like flossing I have been doing it wrong - Holly showed me a better way - I tried it- it works much better - thank you Holly. Dr. Markowitz is truly a lifesaver. Earlier this year, I had extensive dental work performed by another prosthodontist that went terribly wrong. I had eight implants placed, and half of them failed and fell out. I was supposed to have all of my teeth removed, yet one tooth was left behind. Several implants had been placed incorrectly, and by the time I found Dr. Markowitz, I had two infections in my mouth and was in unbearable pain. I was physically and emotionally exhausted. The pain had become so severe that I honestly felt like a wild animal in the woods that needed to be put out of its misery. I was terrified, overwhelmed, and desperate for someone who could help me. With serious infections in my mouth, I was also frightened about what could happen to my health if they weren’t properly treated. Then I found Dr. Markowitz. He took on an incredibly complicated situation and began fixing what had gone wrong. He had to address the infections, failed and improperly placed implants, and reconstruct extensive dental work. After everything I had been through, I finally felt that I was in the hands of someone who truly knew what he was doing. What makes Dr. Markowitz so extraordinary isn’t only his skill—it’s the way he treats his patients. After a six-hour surgery, my jaw was extremely sore from having my mouth open for so long. Dr. Markowitz actually took the time to gently massage my jaw to help relieve my discomfort. That moment says everything about the kind of doctor and human being he is. And the compassion doesn’t stop with Dr. Markowitz. His entire office staff is incredible. Every person I encountered was kind, caring, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and cared for. They treated me like a person, not just another patient. They even brought me a pillow and blanket to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Jamie, Dr. Markowitz’s assistant, deserves a special mention. She was absolutely incredible. I was understandably frightened and anxious after everything I had already been through, and Jamie stayed by my side, took care of me, reassured me, and helped calm me down. Her kindness and compassion meant more to me than she probably realizes. Dr. Markowitz is one of the sweetest, kindest, most gentle and compassionate doctors I have ever met. He has an incredibly generous and empathetic soul, and he genuinely cares about the person sitting in his chair. His staff reflects those same qualities. After what I experienced before finding him, I don’t take exceptional dental care for granted. I truly feel that Dr. Markowitz saved me when I was at one of the lowest and most painful points of my life. In my experience, he is simply the best in his field. No other prosthodontist could hold a candle to him. I cannot recommend Dr. Markowitz and his incredible team highly enough. I will forever be grateful to him, Jamie, and the entire staff for their expertise, patience, kindness, and compassion during one of the most difficult experiences of my life.

I was referred to Dr. Markowitz by endodontist, Dr. Barry Ginzler after a pretty unsettling experience with my previous dentist of 14+ years, who told me (through a new associate) that I needed a front tooth pulled—and never followed up when I asked for clarification. From my first visit, Dr. Markowitz was a completely different experience. He took the time to explain the why, walk me through a clear plan, and reassure me that everything would be okay. When I asked about the temporary “flipper” I had been told I’d need, he told me he doesn’t use those—which was a huge relief. I’ll be honest—I don’t love going to the dentist—but with Dr. Markowitz I feel noticeably calmer and never anxious. He’s put my mind completely at ease and is incredibly sensitive to making sure I’m never in discomfort or pain, all while striving for a perfect result. Since then, he’s completed my implant and two crowns, and I can honestly say he’s everything you want in a dentist: detail-oriented, compassionate, and truly invested in his work. What really stood out—he used my previous crown as a temporary during the 9 months of bone healing, so my smile looked completely natural. I’ve worked in healthcare for nearly 30 years, and I can tell you the culture of a practice reflects the doctor. His team is just as kind, competent, and patient-focused as he is. One small but telling moment: I called early one morning and Dr. Cela answered the phone himself because the team was just arriving and he didn’t want the call to go unanswered. That says everything.
