Pediatric Periodontal Disease occurs in children. It includes, but is not limited to:
- Gingivitis
- 牙周炎
- AggressivePeriodontitis
All three can be avoided or the threat of them reduced by parents helping their children follow proper oral hygiene. In extreme cases of pediatric periodontal disease, surgery is necessary. The best prevention besides good oral hygiene is to ensure that children receive regular dental cleanings and checkups (this also helps the child form a healthy perception of dentists.)
