Dr. Hans is a Board-Certified Periodontist. He attended the University of British Columbia, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Dental Medicine, and Master of Science in Craniofacial Science and Diploma in Periodontics.

Following dental school, Dr. Hans served as a Dental Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for four consecutive years. He was posted to Halifax, NS and Kingston, ON, where he proudly looked after the dental health care needs of soldiers that serve our nation. It was during this time that he realized his passion for periodontics and implant dentistry. He finished his commitment with forces in 2017 and decided to return home to start a three-year residency in Periodontics at UBC.

In addition to providing periodontal treatment and dental implants, Dr. Hans also has a passion for teaching and is a Clinical Instructor at UBC. His educational efforts have been recognized through the multiple teaching awards he has received during his time at UBC. He is also a mentor in study clubs for general dentists in the Vancouver area.
