The Handbook of Clinical Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry provides the clinician with an increased level of expertise and skills for timely identification and intervention for various presentations in the developing dentition. It also clearly describes procedures for treatment in the primary and young permanent dentitions, including pulp therapy for primary and young permanent molars, extractions, space maintenance, and more. The most commonly encountered treatment needs are discussed with the goal of increasing clinician and staff confidence while decreasing chair-time and stress.

With an emphasis on practical instruction, The Handbook of Clinical Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry is ideal for pediatric and general dentists, pediatric residents, and dental students taking clinical pediatric courses.

This book is an up-to-date, succinct, and easily accessible reference on the diverse anomalies that may arise in the developing dentition, including those relating to crown size and shape, tooth formation, tooth eruption, tooth number, and enamel and dentin formation. For each anomaly, information is provided on clinical and radiographic features, etiology, and management. Attention is also drawn to clinically relevant associations among anomalies. The inclusion of numerous high-quality photographs and images will assist the practitioner in establishing the correct diagnosis in each patient and in understanding the rationale for specific interventions. The book will also facilitate discussion of the anomaly with the caregiver or patient, including with respect to genetic and other implications and the appropriate treatment path. Anomalies of the Developing Dentition is an excellent clinical guide to the subject that will aid in timely identification and appropriate management. It will meet the needs of students and practitioners in multiple disciplines of both medicine and dentistry.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Soxman and her Staff. After having a relatively traumatizing situation at another pediatric dentist where the hygienist made my son's mouth bleed for a teeth cleaning and he left crying (and where I was not allowed to accompany my 3 year old daughter to her cleaning area) - we were so relieved to find Dr. Soxman. She made sure to let me accompany my children for the cleanings and made them so comfortable for their visit. My daughter left with a princess crown and my son with a football. We had follow-up visits for cavity fillings that went so smoothly and were expertly executed without any fear from my child. She even did an extra filling for us to save us a long trip back. This kind of skill and service is rare in Healthcare today.

Dr. Soxman was so comforting and understanding with my 6 year old recently when she became very scare of receiving a sealant on four teeth. She and her assistant went through and explained each step of the process prior to and patiently allowed me to help talk my child through her fears. She allowed me to stay with her the entire time. The result, when we had to treat a cavity two weeks later, my daughter trusted them and the process (more involved) went great with little fear. Thank you for your kindness and patience!

I was a bit nervous about taking my 2.5 year old daughter to the dentist for the first time. (she was too) But the second we walked in I knew it was the perfect fit! Layla became upset and cried, immediately two of the assistants came out to to cheer her up and show her all of the cool things in the waiting room. By the time we were back in the exam room she was already comfortable and calm. Then enter Dr Soxmam! She was wonderful, the whole experience was Fantastic...who knew going to the dentist could be fun! Lovely ladies, I would recommend a thousand times over.

Today was my first appointment for my 3 children at Dr. Jane Soxman’s office. The service I received was thorough and thoughtful. The kindness and attentiveness Dr. Soxman and her staff gave to my children was exemplary. The office is clean, well equipped with toys, books and prizes. It was clear from our conversations that Dr. Soxman is well educated and passionate about her practice. Her recommendations for moving forward as my children grow are reasonable and personalized for each child. I highly recommend this office for pediatric dentistry.
