With good oral hygiene, it\u2019s possible to never have a cavity. Follow these tips to prevent tooth decay:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brush your teeth at least twice a day using fluoride toothpaste<\/li>\n<li>Floss your teeth at least once a day<\/li>\n<li>Limit sugary drinks and snacks between meals<\/li>\n<li>Eat few acidic and sugary foods such as refined carbohydrates, sweets, juice, soda, and candy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also fight cavities using the following foods:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Water with some fluoride<\/li>\n<li>Unsweetened green and black tea<\/li>\n<li>Calcium-rich foods<\/li>\n<li>Sugarless chewing gum with xylitol<\/li>\n<li>Fiber-rich vegetables and fruits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the above, be sure to visit a dentist at least twice a year for a dental exam and professional teeth cleaning. Your dentist can identify emerging problems before they cause severe dental complications. If you have pre-existing conditions that predispose you to tooth decay, such as diabetes or acid reflux, manage these conditions as well as possible.
