Dr. Deidra J. Snell is a native of Port Gibson, MS. She attended Alcorn State University where she participated in numerous organizations such as Alcorn State University Marching and Concert Bands playing saxophone, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, Student Government Association, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Snell also participated in research programs at Andhra University in Visakaputnam, India, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and interned at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in the Chemistry Department. She graduated with dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology in 2004 from Alcorn.
Dr. Snell then attended University of Mississippi Medical Center – School of Dentistry, in which she voyaged to Mexico on three different occasions for dental mission trips while a student there. She graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (D.M.D) in 2008 and completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) Program at the University of MS Medical Center in 2009.
Dr. Snell has been a mentor with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, volunteered with Stewpot Ministries of Jackson, Habitat for Humanity, and volunteered with dental and medical mission trips in Mississippi, Guatemala, Bolivia, and Peru in addition to numerous participations in community health fairs.
